I am taking a course that requires students to work in a computer lab. This is probably me most dangerous exposure for this pandemic. To some degree, we are maintaining a 2-meter social distancing. But that can't always be followed.
Recently, the instructor and most students took off their facemask--at a time when the Delta variant (sometimes referred to as Covid 21) is still making the rounds.
I pointed out that many workers have to work with PPE (personal protective equipment) all day. A facemask is much easier than most PPE.
To me, a facemask is a little more annoying than a necktie. And it is probably less annoying that wearing high-heeled shoes.
Covid 19 is a warning shot across the bow. I'm not too sure we have learned enough.
In the meantime, I will wear my N96 mask while in class. More expensive, but should reduce the risk somewhat.
