I am unaware of this situation. But--whether we like it or not--politicians of all political stripes do take junkets on tax-payer money. The official intent of the government trip may be there, but often there are recreational side trips attached to that official trip. Sometimes these side trips can be dovetailed into officila business.

My comment was more directed at politicians who use donor money to win elections. This is a bigger problem.
