I believe Medium allocates its top writer status to those writers it believes will hook the new entrants into Medium. There probably is a team of psychologists trying to figure this out.

I'm not taking this personal. It takes a lot of money to build and operate a site like Medium. They get to make the decisions.

And I have been able to approach about 3000 people. That would have been impossible in pre-internet times.

Judging from my inability to generate much interest for my idea, it seems the Medium psychologists have made the right decision not to give me any "top writer" advantage.
