I brought up the Belgium/Netherlands paradox to a family member. She couldn't compare the two. She just saw death figures in Netherlands and concluded that this country needed to be shut down. BTW, she and her family are fairly comfortable and can weather this storm better than most families.

I disagree with your position on face masks. They do stop most droplets from escaping into public air. Like prophylactics, they are not 100% effective, but 95% is better than 0%. And I believe that face masks have been credited with reducing pandemics in Asian countries.

We may very well have to take this pandemic, sooner or later, so that everyone gets infected--and Mother Nature takes her course. In the meantime, I will take reasonable precautions. You won't see me on a public beach or in a sports stadium.
