I don't have any argument with stock buybacks. They make sense in some business situations. But if they are used to inflate stock prices, that is a sign that Karl Marx was right: capitalism will eventually fall in on itself.

While the federated co-op has a big presence in western Canada, many western Canadians are shopping elsewhere. If the co-op can get another 10% volume, there will be even more dividends coming to the customers. Last year, I got a 6% return on my purchases!!!!!
