I don't know enough about this particular race to comment wisely. I have a few comments about campaign strategy.
"Getting out the vote" more involves the use of ground teams to canvass homes, find the lukewarm supporters, and encourage them to vote. This requires volunteers and a canvassing plan at the office. In close elections , the quality of the ground team can make the difference.
It is my understanding that the 2020 election was affected by COVID. The Democrats chose not to send out street canvassers for fear of spreading the disease (and bad publicity). That probably cost M.r Biden at least 2m votes. Probably 5 or 6. The Republicans didn't care about COVID, so they got much of their lukewarm support to the voting booth. I suspect the same disadvantage will apply to this race.
For those Republicans who get enraged by the storm on social media, I would say that they are already motivated to vote regardless of whether those social media storms occurred or not. There is little "getting out the vote" with this campaign strategy.
The better social media strategy for the Republicans is to go after the soft Democrat support--and convince them that their preference i not worth the effort to cast a vote. I have recently wrote an article to this effect.

BTW, the Democrats are probably doing the same thing to the soft Republican support.

"No democracy is safe until you figure out how to outmaneuver those who are amoral and manipulative. "
When democracy is based on outmaneuvering the opponent, then it is never safe. History is being written by which party has the more clever marketers and their donors. It is time for a new way.
