I don't think the radical left has the concentration and numbers to create any kind of new state. I certainly don't know anyone I would put into that category.

In his Foundation Series, SF writer Isaac Asimov prophecized that a democracy has a shelf life of only two to three centuries. Then it falls in on itself, and some version of oligarchy takes over. We may be seeing that Asimov decline.

Mr. Trump would like to run the USA like he runs his companies. Either he is not smart enough to pull a coup or the timing isn't right. But the next populist leader just might figure out what Trump did wrong. That leader could come from the political left.

It's time for a new way. I think I've talked to you about that before.
