I find your take on how to fix things rather common. If only we as individuals improved ourselves, the political affairs would also improve.
The problem is that most of us who think this way believe we are already fixed, it is the other people who need the self improvement.
A second problem is that the system itself teaches us that we really don’t to improve because it is those people we disagree with who are the fools.
There is a big Catch-22 that cannot be overcome. I have written about it more thoroughly in Chapter 8.
