I fully agree!

The summer break comes from our agrarian tradition so that children of farming families could provide farm labor in the farm's busy season. My farmer father got a lot work out me and my brother during the summer. This really does not apply that much anymore. Farming is pretty technical today: there are fewer farming tasks 12-year-olds can handle.

The communists of Czechoslovakia had a great idea for "school breaks." Regions would take their breaks at different times. Schools would shut down; many "businesses" would partially shut down. When the Trnava region had its winter break, many families of Trnava hit the ski slopes. Next week, Nitra would shut down. The ski slopes and other tourist sites were not overly crowded.
