I got into your book this afternoon. Seems to move quite fast. But I often struggle in the first part of any novel. Getting characters sorted out is a challenge for me.
When I was putting together “Diary of a Future Politician,” I was wondering whether to put COVID in the background. My editor suggested not to do this. This was a good decision. So the three novels are COVID free. But I can see your approach of basing novels on recent events might have some appeal as various people struggle with this issues. I bet there are some ideas going through your head about the recent “trucker” protests.
I regard my three novels — Diary, Confessions, and Circles —mostly as teaching tools for the TDG. They do that job well, but I don’t think they can ever be regarded “great writing.” I don’t have much desire to write fiction outside the TDG genre.
I took a look at your webpage. Unfortunately, I have too much on the go to join something like this. But you just might be leading a new genre of “current affairs” fiction.
