I had a couple of friends with these phallic units (circa 1980). I didn't see much sense. But I remember a fair bit of horsepower; they could spin their tiles off a dead start. That was the only redeeming feature, if that is classified as a redeeming feature.

I was driving a 64 Valiant in those days. It handled better than an 80 Firebird.
