I had a good conversation with my son's soccer coach. He was born to a mother who drank alcohol in pregnancy. Both he and his twin sister have fetal alcohol syndrome.
He has a small business and works a regular job. He is raising a family. He is a soccer coach. He is dealing with his condition. He says it is not easy.
His sister is in a state of victimhood.
When we recognize a mental illness, the next step is to do things that alleviate it. It may be a life-long battle, but going through that battle is still important.
