I had heard that Meyer-Briggs has been deemed obsolete (discredited?) by modern psychology. Possibly! As we gain more knowledge and research, these things are bound to improve--and the older ways have to be discarded.

I thought MB had nailed me pretty good (Barnum effect?). But there was one parameter that I thought I was 50/50. In MB, it seemed the analysis was an all or nothing on the four attributes. There wasn't a personality type for one or more 50/50. Strangely, I identified with one side of that 50, but not the other. Maybe other psychological forces were at work. If anything I have learned, we are all susceptible to those forces.

I gained a lot of insight using True Colors. One thing that I realized that I had to let go of my frustration of people who didn't think the same I did. One fault of TC was, again, the 50/50 nature of some of the lines of questioning. It is far too easy to lump oneself in one of the True Colors, which may not be accurate.

The Big Five is something new to me. I might have to look at it.
