I have a different reason for this supposedly insane thinking.

To summarize, many societies over history have organized themselves in this ratio:

85% proles

13% Outer Party, which are the "arms and legs" to keep the Inner Party in power, and get some goodies.

2% Inner Party, which makes all the decisions and most most of the goodies.

The MAGA group can see a restructure of American society. They are a political force. They have the means and drive for an insurrection.

In this new society, MAGA will have a higher pecking order than they have now. They will be somewhat above the law. This is something for them to strive for.

It makes sense for them to get a reputation of being loyal or a true patriot or a warrior for this cause, as their reputation will carry them higher in the new pecking order.

In other words, it is mostly about gaining power for the future. There's some logic in their words and deeds.
