I have an ulterior motive for being on Medium. I've been getting a lot of inspiration from little snippets of my life to help in my promotion. These are incidents which used to be "forgetable".

My uncle was soldier in the Canadian Army. He was in the second wave on Juno Beach. He never said much, but one day--with a bit too much whiskey--he opened up. He talked about horrors of war, but also the life experiences he got from war. He was an unassuming man; I'm not sure if his stories are recorded.
