I have more or less left FB; I just got frustrated with not having much control over my wall. I missed a family reunion last summer because my cousins assumed I would get the message on FB. For some reason, the FB algorithms didn’t put my cousins’ posts on my wall anymore.

These days, I look at FB once a week to see if anyone wants to contact me. And it’s good for me to keep the account active should I need to contact one of my “friends”. Keeping the traditional “address book” in hard copy format sounds like a bother. I treat my LinkedIn account in the same way: mostly an address book.

I like the idea of using FB as a source of local news. But how do we pay people well enough to provide quality local news stories?
