I have spoiled my ballot for the past 28 years in provincial and national elections. That is my way of telling the powers that this system isn't working. Not voting is, in my opinion, telling the powers that you don't care who is in power.

But your essay brings up many good points, many of which I have addressed in my alternative democracy.
