I have to agree. Umair indeed has a choice, especially given his audience. He is clearly not making the choice to move the world forward.
When I went through his eudonomics essays, he is missing one vital component: "How do we move from HERE to THERE?" This is a problem of most utopic visions.
I got asked that question after I launched the first version of "Tiered Democratic Governance" in 2000. I didn't have an answer at the time, but after several years, I figured it out. The third version in 2009 was when all my ideas came together.
I've been on Medium for 31 months, promoting this new way. Not much to show after 210 articles and 5200 responses. Maybe I need to write dystopic for a couple a years, then hit my audience with my vision. Methinks I would lose my audience rather quickly. Methinks Umair would be same. He might as well keep cashing in.
