BUT

. . . . . too many people are not taking reasonable precautions.

We would be looking an a much different pandemic if people wore face masks in public AND cut back on their social outings. Yes, we still need each other's company. But maybe sitting in a pub once every couple of weeks with buddies is sufficient in these times.
