I have to agree with you. We have placed for responsibility for impaired driving on the driver. The driver cannot use the excuse "I was too drunk to realize I was too drunk to drive."

The big problem with many of these sexual assault cases is finding the burden of proof. And the smarter perpetrators know how to keep things within the legal boundaries without getting into trouble. *

i don't have a quick answer to this societal dilemma. I just can't see locking a possible perpetrator up because an accusation.

Maybe we need to establish a commission where women can complain without a big trial. When too many complaints come in about a certain man, set up an entrapment scheme that will generate lots of evidence against the man. But I know the LAW is often more complicated than that--and generally does not like entrapment schemes.

You are probably aware of a certain entertainer who spent a little time in prison and lost much of his public appeal. The case that put him behind bars seemed a little weak on evidence to me, but his reputation for getting involved in this kinds of cases became a little too much for the courts to ignore. In other words, the previous accusations and trials became unofficial evidence.

I call my former roommate a misogynist. I call the decisions of the 200 women that had casual, consensual sex with him as perpetuating the culture of misogyny.

This was one of the main intents of my original article.

* I have spent a little time with my sister, first time since COVID. She worked for a big employer for 10 years. She quit 15 years ago. One of her male colleagues was a misogynist. She recently learned that somehow the employer finally fired him on grounds of sexual assault: 25 years after my sister decided to keep her distance from this fellow.

Methinks the employer should have tried some entrapment scheme years ago.
