I heard that the D's did not do any door-to-door canvassing in 2020--and the R's were quite active in that regard by ignoring the Covid danger. Probably one reason why the race was closer than it should have been.

I used to be quite critical of management in my workplaces for not seeing things the way I saw them. Then I got in business for myself. Management is much more difficult on the inside than the outside.

In that regard, I believe the DNC needs to put their best people in the top campaign positions in this Trump era. Your ideas may be great, but these guys have a sense of the bigger picture. Holding unity rallies may take resources away from FB advertising. Which brings in more votes? I cannot say.

This does not mean these DNC managers will get things right. But if things go wrong, the stakes are pretty high these days.

I've always said that the most influential demographic are those who don't vote. Political parties try not to offend them--because this group is more likely to vote against someone than for someone. I really have no idea on how to motivate these voters. And maybe we shouldn't be too try to convince them. If they can't make the effort to find a few things out, maybe they won't vote wisely.

For the past 25 years, I have been spoiling my ballot in federal and provincial elections. That is my way of saying "this 19 century system no longer belongs in the 21st century". I do put x's on municipal elections because I know a few things about some of the people on the ballot--to vote for them or around them. And there's no political parties at the municipal level in Canada. But I did vote for the governing party at the last provincial election. They managed to govern four years without a scandal. That deserved my vote. Or maybe they didn't get caught. Who knows?
