I know you are atheist, but the real lesson behind the death of Jesus Christ was that at the time of his death, he could count his true friends on one hand.

It is absurd to think that "true Christians," would have somehow amassed themselves to force the Pharisees, Pilate, and the Roman guards to change the historical path they were creating.

Truth is, nearly all of us will fail when faced with this kind of situation. Maybe when we fully understand that, we just might come up with the right decision at the right time. But I hope I'm not tested in this way.
