I liked the automotive example. We have to design things for the silly.

I would say our electoral systems need the same consideration.

I see a paradox that so many people on Medium recognize that western demcracy is breaking down, yet they cannot investigate other ideas. It feels they easily fall back on the popular suggestions like:

1. Replacing the electoral college with popular vote.

2. End of gerrymandering of electoral districts.

3. Put a lid on campaign contributions from the corporate world.

4. Term limits for Congress representatives

5. Ranked-choice voting

6. Proportional representation

But anything outside this list is not to be taken seriously.
