I read this book when I was a teenager, circa 1975.

As I was reading your review, little side stories were coming out of my brain cells. Obviously the book had an amazing impact on me.

One life lesson I got was how cruel/unfair life can be. Jerry's friend and fellow offensive lineman (name?) got injured and a rookie stepped in. The friend recovered, but could not get the starting job back.

Then there was the anecdote about using the helmet as a spear.

And Lombardi was a SOB. But he got results.
