I really couldn't argue with any of the points made here. If anything, democracy discourages competent people from running for public office--leaving the door open for people of mediocre or lower talents and skills.

So right now, I'm going to conduct an experiment on the author and this article's reader. Are you people interested in a possible solution? Or is this article mostly another of many gripe sessions?
