I remember that article and response. I thought the person had a good point, but I thought such a gesture was, at worst, harmless. Let people thank or not thank; other people should not take offence regardless.

After that article, I tended not to thank. But after reading your article, maybe we should show thanks more often, especially for those of us who are not well read on Medium. After all, our readers have so many more superior writers to spend time with, right?
