I shall let your suggestions percolate.

I've had several commentators say that the TDG looks like the HMOs in the USA. And because the HMOs have a bad reputation, the TDG is something to avoid.

I suspect many of the detractors of the HMOs just don't like anyone else telling them what to do with their property. If they want to park their Kenworth truck on their front lawn, that is their right. Right? But why did they buy a house in an area governed by an HMO?

One big difference the TDG and the HMO is that the TDG will not be a position to affect local governance in any way. At least not in the first five years. The TDG needs to develop different skills in governance before it can decide on whether to allow or not allow Kenworth trucks to be parked on lawns.
