I spent about 14 years in the petroleum industry. But I always regarded this industry as a transition from the Industrial Age to wherever we are supposed to be going.

Like the bacteria in your petri dish, we thought the good times would last forever. In other words, we have mismanaged the transition.

This speaks to our incapable system of governance. It's time for a new way.
