I studied the disaster known as the 2010 BP Macondo blowout in the Gulf of Mexico. Even my primary source of analysis could not make the connection that there was an errant psychological culture that sort of cropped up from nowhere. No one saw the signs.

We need need a better understanding of psychology and sociology in our professions. Maybe change a four-year STEM degree to a five-year degree, with lots of emphasis on the humanities.
