I taught English for two years in Czechoslovakia. There was a common axiom about English teachers about the four reasons why they were English teachers:

1. Looking for a life adventure.

2. It is a good occupation for a party-party lifestyle.

3. It is a job many screwups can do.

4. It provides an income and occupies time for those teaching the world about God.

I was mostly #1. I had given up the party-party lifestyle about a decade earlier.

But, for sure, our demons do follow us wherever we go.
