I think we need to get away from the myth of the family farmer eking out a meagre living, working long hours on their quarter section, while feeding the rest of us. Farming is now big business. Teenagers of family farms drive better vehicles than I can afford to drive. Many farmers spend winter vacations on Caribbean resorts.

Farmers have more political clout than they deserve.
