I think you were right on with this article.

Any politician’s first loyalty is to the party, not the society. Until we get rid of all political parties, we will have maintain this axiom.

And I would say that any American who chooses not to vote because the D candidate is so compromised fully has that right not to vote.

The premise of this article, which is that the D’s are not protesting too much because they will eventually have influence to tilt the rules to their favor, speaks to an aristocratic class in USA.

I invite the author and his readers to spend about a half hour with this article with this article from the The Atlantic.

This article explains the social forces that are shaping in American society. The electoral rules, whether being written by D’s or R’s, will still keep the aristocracy in place — which then create a counter force, which could be, in part, described as the Trump base.

It really is time for a new way.
