I used to watch all three networks to get some balance of American news. I quit watching MSNBC when they showed big footage of Mr. Trump with a piece of paper stuck to the bottom of his shoe. This channel was looking at any excuse to belittle the fellow. I quit Fox News after it took an errant slant to the insurrection. It is no longer pretending to be objective.
I prefer PBS over CNN, but we only have one PBS channel in my part of Canada. It's kind of hard to find the PBS Newshour, whereas CNN is always on to get my American fix.
Your graphic is pretty sad. Americans no longer want thinking journalism anymore. And if young people are watching the news, they are probably finding more radical forms online, which you have mentioned.
A few years ago, I picked up a book on a discard pile called "The Unrealty Industry". It talked about how TV news is becoming less like news. It was written in 1989. Maybe I need to give it a more serious read and see how "correct" the predictions have become.
