I wanted to take my six-year-old son to his first movie: The Rise of Gru. I remember my first movie Mary Poppins and I really liked Dick Van Dyke dancing with the cartoon penguins. The Rise of Gru would be a good memory for my son.

But a movie theatre is not a good place to be in these times.

I spent about 12 years in the Canadian oilpatch. If we took the laws away about wearing hard hats, I would say about a third of the workers would quit wearing them--even after head vs. steel injuries escalated.

Face masks are a nuisance, but they are much easier to wear than hard hats.
