I was an avid reader in the 90s. The Economist was crucial to my current political lens. This would be a good example of media shaping a young mind.
Because of a disability, finances had to be re-ordered and I cancelled my subscription. My local libraries never carried the magazine.
Anyways, I am sorry hear about the editorial demise. But things do evolve and change.
I am also wondering about the fear inside the media boardrooms. While it may be hard to legally shut down a media outlet for "spreading lies," vandals (both physical and cyber) can make it difficult for a media outlet to operate. Are the media outlets currying to this threat?
