I was going to refer you to my Sophie Scholl article. But I see you have already been there.
For others following this thread, Sophie was a young resistance fighter in Munich during WW2. She was caught and executed.
Despite whatever brainwashing techniques are being employed, there are always enough people to know the truth.
This Medium article has a link to a German movie about her story. One of the better movies I've seen in the past few years.
