I was in Trnava, Czechoslovakia in 1990. The Russian garrison had not yet left. When you strolled downtown, you often saw young Russian soldiers in uniform, with military machine guns strapped behind their back.

This scenario repeated itself throughout the former Soviet bloc.

Whatever evils the west may be committing, the people of these nations prefer western dominance over Russian.
