I was living in a 12-story high rise in NE Trnava, Slovakia. From my vantage point, I could see the village of Leopoldov to the northeast. Local legends say that Mongols had occupied that village and were trying to figure out how to take down the walled town of Trnava. Then they left.

I always find it interesting to be actually on the edge of history.
