I was ready to do my morning calisthenics, and I get another thoughtful response from you. Responding is more fun.
It will take at least a decade for current Republican philosophy to fade away. Demographic trends are not kind to that future. . . . unless the Republicans take control, which is plausible.
Occasionally, I find myself on the PBS program called “Inside Olympia”. Host Austen Jenkins sets up an excellent forum for affairs for Washington state. When he puts Republican legislators in the hot seat, these legislators are able express their opinions in a reasonable light. This is the kind of discussion we need to have. Even Canadian TV networks can learn from PBS.
What I am saying is that there are two Americas out there. The first is the vile America that the mainstream media is whipping up and putting on the front page. The second are the more reasonable Americans.
The reasonable Americans can take control of democracy by building a new democracy. If and when the Republicans do grow up, this new democracy will be at least half way built.
