I was surprised that both parties picked 70-year old people for the position of president in 2016. The D’s currently have Mr. Sanders and Mr Biden in the running.

Politics is undoubtedly one of the toughest jobs in the world. You have to be on the go and on guard 12 to 14 hours a day. The crises never stop. Far too many people want to see you. Party, media, and constituents have differing expectations. Add in POTUS and self-inflicted impeachment hearings, the strain must be unbearable.

70-years olds should not be applying for POTUS. Their health may good for the moment, but they are at an age where even the most healthy of them can have their health fail.

We could make a similar argument for 50 years old, just with lower odds of health failure.

We need a different system: one that is not so dependent on one person.
