I would have to disagree. We still have first-past-the-post electoral system, which forces many voters to vote strategically rather than their true preference. The Liberal Party is the prime beneficiary of strategic voting.
However, that effect is less in Canada than the United States. We have three to five parties in Parliament. New parties easily form. Two parties often merge. It is more dynamic. Why Canada has not evolved into a two-party hegemony is a mystery to me. But I prefer the results the mystery provides, relatively speaking when we look to the south.
