I would have to disagree with this article on several fronts:
1) I read the 2016 polls as a coin flip election. The coin flipped in a Trump way.
2) I read the 2020 polls as a slight Biden victory. This is what happened.
3) I believe the 2024 polls are being manipulated. I am looking at the soft support voters to reach this conclusion. The D's are destined for a victory. This victory has the potential to be quite large.
The polls are being manipulated for two reasons:
1) The media make more profit if a close race is reported. A polling company has to report a close race, otherwise it will not get media attention.
2) The D election machine cannot afford to report a 55/45 split. Otherwise many soft support voters will not bother voting, which then leads to another coin flip election. Some media outlets may be deliberating misreporting the polls for this reason. Other media are "forced" to follow. And there is the profit motive.
If someone can explain why the polls are basically unchanged as the D's changed from Biden to Harris, I might change my mind.
