I would put this story in a book. Likely, it won't be popular, but others in the future may enjoy hearing this story.

One of my uncles fought for the Canadian Army in the Italian campaign. He never said much about that time. But before he succumbed to dementia, one of sons got my uncle to tell stories into a tape recorder. This was later transcribed. A great story.
