I would still like to have been the fly on the wall when the decision was made to discourage gas stoves. Were sound scientific and economic reasons given? If so, why today and not five years ago?

I remember an in-depth CBC analysis on cloth vs. disposable diapers. Both have their pros and cons. Both sides had their experts to promote their cause. It seems the disposable side won out, but the main reason was probably individual convenience, not what was best for the environment or the economy.
