If the Republican Party is indeed split the way you say it is, then we could assume the 70% of Republicans favor a democracy that will allow the Democrats to govern 50% of the time OVER a one-party state where the Democrats will never be allowed to govern.

But the 70% seems to acquiescing to the 30%. So by their actions (and voting patterns), I would say most of the Republican Party favors a Republican oligarchy in the future.
