If the USA were to adopt a Proportional Representation model of electoral governance, the D's and R's would split into two political parties each. The Greens and Libertarians would have a small showing in Congress. Parties would have to collaborate to govern.
Progress? Maybe. Average Europeans are not exactly enthusiastic about their politicians either.
But this article--and the sources it quotes from--speaks to the natural inclinations of many citizens not to be too involved in the political process. Whether we like it or not, most of us are not political junkies.
