If the Virginia gubernatorial election had gone blue, the ugly fact remains that 30% of eligible voters still voted for a party that wants to dismantle democracy in the USA.

In the 1770s, Americans were divided into there equal political camps: (1) the Loyalists, (2) Patriots, (3) whoever wins the war. Thirty percent was enough to effect a coup back then; it will be enough today.
