If we have 100 kids in a school yard and one is a bully, it is possible for 10 kids to stand up to the bully. But if 30 kids have banded together to be a collective bully, the previous 10 kids have no chance.

We could blame the 50 or more kids who are not taking a stand. But casting blame won't solve the problem.

Standing up to MAGA is more likely to embolden them, which then escalates the conflict.

A more "conniving" solution would be to build a new democracy, away from the circus of today's politics.
