I'll keep an eye for Kendrick Lamar.
As a genre, I tend to stay away from rappers and hip-hop artists because their lyrics are conducive to making the world a worse place than it already is, even though I can see the obvious talent and dedication it takes to make such music. Today's country music is another genre for me to stay away from: most is about getting drunk and getting laid. Kind of hard to move a civilization forward with those lyrics.
Admittedly, I am still stuck musically in the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. I never understood Michael Jackson or Prince. I do find great modern pop music on YouTube now and then. But I can't seem to remember their names. Part of getting old.
