I'm an a partial UBI income, but the Canadian government is not calling it a UBI.

My family is lower middle class. We got about 20% of our income because of our two children. The government looked at our tax returns and applied the formula.

Without this supplement, we would be better described as "working poor."

I'm an advocate of UBI, but I really believe we need to introduce it slowly. It will take time for many businesses to adjust their management styles to retain employees (another benefit the mainstream UBI advocates cannot seem to see). And going all at once will have too many low wage workers dropping out, leaving importent work undone. Yes, there will be some freeloader effect.
